Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine whether there is an influence between economic growth (X) on the unemployment rate (Y) in South Sumatra Province 2002-2019. The data used is secondary data from Central Agency on Statistics. The method of analysis used in this study is to use simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the economic growth variable (X) had a negative and significant effect on the unemployment rate (Y). The result of coefficient of determination test shows that dependent variable can be explained by independent variable
amounted up to 31,19% and the rest of 68,81% is explained by other factors outside this model.
