Abstract

This brief article tries to portray how the local media, particularly the print media played a role and interest-based and built on a foundation of political economy. Where the interests of the political-economic foundation were laid on the overall process and the phase of the general elections of regional heads is used as a space to represent the attitudes and political choices in the name of public interest. This paper is an excerpt from the author compiling a research thesis in the Master of Communication and Media Concentration Political Communication Faculty of Communication University of Mercu Buana (FIKOM�UMB) Jakarta in 2011.
