KONSTRUKSI PEMBERITAAN PENUSUKAN SYEKH ALI JABER DI MEDIA ONLINE (Analisis Framing Robert N. Entman Di Media Republika.co.id dan Kompas.com)

Media is a construction agent that defines reality. This means that the media are in charge of choosing which
reality to display. This study aims to determine the construction of Syekh Ali Jaber's stabbing news in online
media (Robert N. Entman Framing Analysis in Media Republika.co.id and Kompas.com). This study uses the
theory of framing analysis by Robert N. Entman, in which Entrman sees framing in two major dimensions,
namely the selection of issues and the emphasis or the prominence of certain aspects of reality with four
elements, namely problem identification, problem causes, moral decisions and solutions to problems. This study
uses a qualitative method with the Robert N. Entman framing analysis method. Where news related to the
stabbing of Sheikh Ali Jaber in the media Republika.co.id and Kompas.co were collected then selected and
grouped then presented and analyzed using theory. From the results of the research analysis, it was found that
Republika.co.id saw and interpreted the incident as a moral violation. Meanwhile, Kompas.com sees this as a
legal problem. The conclusion of this study resulted in a different construction where Republika.co.id tends to
be in the position of the interests of the media owners and moves to follow market developments. Meanwhile,
Kompas.com which tends to be in the interests of media owners and in line with the government.
