THE CORRELATION BETWEEN STUDENTS’ PERSONALITY AND THEIR SPEAKING ACHIEVEMENT OF THE STUDENTS ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM OF BATURAJA UNIVERSITY

The problem of this study was limited on investigating correlation between students’ personality and their speaking achievement by the students of english education study program of baturaja university. Objective of this study was wants to know is there significant correlation between students’ personality and their speaking achievement by the students of english education study program of baturaja university. In this study, the writer used the descriptive quantitative method and the population of this study were the whole of the second semester of students english education study program of baturaja university, the total of population were 23 students. In this case, the writer took population sampling so the sample consisted 23 students. The writer used speaking score and questionnaire as the techniques for collecting the data. The data analyzed by using the writer used Pearson Product Moment correlation method by Karl Pearson. The result of this study, It showed there was significant correlation between student achievement and student personality. Based on the finding result of this study the Pearson correlation score was 0,434 it means that the score was on the strong enough category. So it was
considered through of the data was Strong enough. It indicates that hypothesis null of the data was rejected. There was significant correlation between student achievement and student personality of the students English education study program of Baturaja University. It saw from the result of Pearson correlation score was 0,434. The coefficient correlation was found positive in strong enough correlation category.
