Abstract
The objective of this study was to find out the students’ ability in using subject verb agreement at English Education Students of Baturaja University. Method of this study was descriptive quantitative research. Sample of this study was 91 students from second, fourth, sixth, and eighth semester students of English Education Study Program in academic year 2022/2023. Technique sampling of this study was total sampling method. Moreover, in collecting the data used grammar test that consisted 40 test items. The indicator of test item are five rules of subject verb agreement. In analyzing students’ score, the writer used statistical analysis of mean score and average percentage of students’ correct answer. The writer classified students’ score based on the level ability used score interval: very good, good, fair, poor, and fail. Based on the result of the test, there were 3 (3,29%) students got very good category, 21 (23,07%)
got good category, 32 (35,16%) students got fair category, 32 (35,16%) students got poor category, and fail 3 (3,29%) students got fail category. Based on the students’ mean score was 58,99 it categorized into fair level. Based on the average percentage of students’ correct answer, the percentage 60,06% and categorized into fair level. Based
on the findings, the writer concluded that students’ ability in using subject verb agreement at English Education Students of Baturaja University was fair.
