ANALISIS UNSUR STRUKTURAL NOVEL YANG TELAH LAMA PERGI KARYA TERE LIYE DAN RELEVANSINYA PADA PEMBELAJARAN SASTRA DI SMР

The purpose of this study is to describe the structural elements of the novel Yang Sudah Lama Pergi by Tere Liye and its relevance to literature learning in high school. The method used is a descriptive method. The data source in this study is the novel Yang Sudah Lama Pergi by Tere Liye. The data collection technique used is the literature study technique, and the data analysis technique is the fiction analysis technique. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, the following can be concluded. The theme of the novel is revenge. The plot used is a forward plot or progressive plot. The characters in the novel are Al Mas'ud
who is an intelligent, knowledgeable, brave, and responsible character. Remasut is an evil, cruel, and ambitious character. Biksu Tsing is a wise character, rejects violence, and is a thinker. Pembayun is a character who acts as an educational advisor as well as a war strategy advisor. The setting in the novel consists of setting place, setting time, and social setting. In general, the setting place in the
novel is in the Strail of Malacca, the Sriwijaya Kingdom, Floating Island, the South China Sea, Panai City, Kuala Kedah, Palembang City, and Baghdad. Furthermore, the time setting in the novel is also detailed in 1270 AD. The social
setting ofthe novel is a social depiction ofthe Srivijaya kingdom in 1270 AD. The point of view of the novel is the third person point of view. The message that can be taken from the novel is that revenge will not solve the problem. The novel Yang Sudah Lama Pergi by Tere Liye has a standard of eligibility as a teaching material for literary appreciation in high school because it is in accordance with
the potential of students in learning literature. The novel Yang Sudah Lama Pergi by Tere Liye can motivate students in a better direction. This novel is in accordance with BSNP.
