Abstract

One of the efforts to arouse students' interest and understanding in the Indonesian language subject is to apply the time token model by linking it to the theory of speech methods. The formulation of the problem studied in this study is before and after using the time token model and whether or not the learning model is effective. The purpose of this study is to describe the existing problem formulation. The research method used is the experimental method with a pretest and posttest research design. The population and sample of this study were class VII.2 totaling 32 students. The data collection technique for this study used an
instrument in the form of 10 pretest and posttest essay questions. Then, the data analysis technique used t count. The learning outcomes of class VII students before using the time token model and after using the time token model showed
that the use of the time token model was better than before using the time token model. Because the t count has been obtained at 6.63, in this case it shows that the t count is greater than the t table (6.63> 2.03). Thus, the hypothesis put forward, namely "the time token model is effectively used in concluding speech methods for class VII students of SMP Negeri 13 OKU" is proven to be true.
